Research
My research deals primarily with the electronic structure of surfaces with
and without adsorbed layers of atoms. We approach the problem in two ways:
1) as an embedding problem in which surface layers are embedded into the
underlying substrate by means of an embedding potential; and
2) as a
boundary problem in which the imposition of a non-reflecting boundary
condition eliminates most of the non-physical effects arising from an
artificial boundary separating surface and substrate regions.
I am a Professor at Baylor University, and regularly visit TCM for a month in the summer.
